Get Out of Your Own Way

Writer's picture: Camille EllisCamille Ellis

When life throws us challenges, and it will, stop and find your center.

If you’re uncertain how to do this: it’s in your heart. This is where what is right for you lives.

When you take the time to pause and center yourself, you can take on the challenge better.

Get curious with every challenge: is it really a challenge or is that what your brain is telling you? You see we get in our own way by simply thinking the challenge is a challenge. What if it wasn’t a challenge? How and who would you be?

Inquiring is key. We all need to remember and practice the pause before responding to the challenge. Otherwise you’ll just be reacting. Reacting is great for our fight or flight times in life, but it may cause more challenges in our everyday experiences.

It’s easy to forget to take the pause, it’s not a natural pattern. We have to exercise it to make it a beneficial pattern and change the results we create for ourselves.

The best way to help yourself when challenge shows up is, ask yourself “Why is this a challenge”, it may take the intensity out of it.

Every challenge is an opportunity to grow and develop our skills.

Growing is life.

If you’re feeling stuck or stagnant in your life, let’s work together. I’ll show you how you might be getting in your own way. There’s always another perspective and I’ll help you find it.

Live your best life on purpose!
